ABOUT AWESIM MEDICAL
AWESIM stands for Airway Education Simulation. We are interested in improving medical education through simulation. Our goal is to identify areas where awesome medical models are not yet available in order to provide a more meaningful learning experience. Each model is created from cadaveric specimens and clinically obtained cross sectional scans.
Three-dimensional molds are created for each tissue type and different polymers are color-matched to real tissue intraoperatively. Tensile strength, incision, dissection, retraction and suture pull-through mimick real tissue. Please see below to find out more about how these models are being used.
REPLACEABLE CARTRIDGES
We recognize that certain procedures require only a portion of the model to be used. To keep your costs down and to minimize waste, we have replaceable inserts.
ENDOSCOPIC LARYNGEAL PROCEDURES
Anatomically accurate inside and out so you can also perform endoscopic procedures such as laryngeal cleft repair, and bronchoscopy.

FLEXIBLE NASOPHARYNGOSCOPY
FLEXIBLE BRONCHOSCOPY
Teach parents how to safely change, suction and care for their child's tracheostomy tube. Allow them to feel more comfortable with tracheostomy care, and shorten their child's length of stay in hospital! This model also allows for practicing flexible nasopharyngoscopy and bronchoscopy.
TEACHING ANATOMY
With medical schools and undergraduate courses moving away from cadaveric dissection, these models offer a realistic learning experience with a model that looks, feels, cuts and sutures the same as real tissue.

RIB GRAFTS FOR CARVING
Our synthetic ribs look, feel, carve and can be sutured just like real ribs. Practice carving them for airway surgery, ear surgery, rhinoplasty, or any other procedure you can think of.
